And God said, 'Let there be light' and there was light, but the Electricity Board said He would have to wait until Thursday to be connected.

It ended up being Sunday and I did it myself but I finally got the light fixtures in the kitchen up.
They work better than I could have hoped, giving a strong even light throughout the kitchen with no shadows.
Next up is my bedroom. That could be tricky, since I've had a look at the wiring and it's a bit of a rats nest.
Very chic lights!
Thanks hungry 🙂
They look nice but don`t you think they are too close to the ceiling? Well, if you use those energy saving bulbs there will be no problem… :left:
The problem is the ceiling is so low I had to shorten the lights or you would have to dodge them every time you walked by. In fact someone tall like you might still have trouble. They are energy saving bulbs and they're not likely to be left on for long periods so it should be ok.
After Darko kick-started my paranoia – thanks for that :p – I put the lights on and checked the bulbs and ceiling for hot spots. I couldn't feel anything so the fixtures shall remain ensconced.
Sconces, you need sconces.
I often hit them with my head :awww:
Annoying, I know. I've been doing garden work out back and I keep running into a hanging bird feeder that's at just the wrong height.

Hmm. That's a new one. I trod on a rake once :doh:Nice lights though 🙂
Truth be told, we usually just say "ow!" here. Must be a dialect difference 😉

Okay, drop the sconces, but have some scones!
Scones on the ceiling would just look silly. And not give off any light at all.
panel lights are the future.

They certainly look futuristic. And they would give plenty of clearance. But they also seem very plain.
ah, but since they work with led's you can adjust the colour in some models. :p.
Hmm, maybe. But after the trouble it took to put those up I'm not keen to take them down again.
Scones for eating. 🙄
I'd need a step ladder to eat them off the ceiling though.
I have a wacky idea.. Put the scones on a plate on the table. (just untill you can get them into you mouth of course)Then glue some acrylic mirror to your low ceiling.. This will make the ceiling seem higher and make the room feel more open. :hat:.
That sounds just crazy enough to work.
You may have problems Mickey, but I'm betting your cats wouldn't…
I'm not the one who wants to stick scones to his ceiling.
