Lá Fhéile Pádraig

Happy Paddy's Day everyone.

I had some trouble trying to come up with an idea for a post for today.

💡 Then I realised that some of you may not be familiar with the story of St. Patrick and how he became the patron saint of Ireland.

I hope you all enjoy the day and get a chance to "drown the shamrock" if that's your desire.

Lá Fhéile Pádraig Sona Daoibh!

  1. Happy day to you! We get to "dress down" today at work . Which means wearing jeans and a lot of green. :alien:

  2. It's St. Patrick's Day! Time to wear a shamrock, go green, get jiggy and groove all the way!

  3. Happy St.Patricks Mickey! :cheers:Like every St. Patricks day, it's abnormally warm and sunny for that time of the year +8 :eyes: It's like this year after year…

  4. That's lucky for you. We had been having snow on Paddy's day for while. It was better this year, just a bit overcast, but with a chill wind.

  5. :sing:In the merry month of May, From my home I started,Left the girls of Tuam, Nearly broken hearted,Saluted father dear, Kissed my darlin' mother,Drank a pint of beer, My grief and tears to smother,Then off to reap the corn, And leave where I was born,I cut a stout blackthorn, To banish ghost and goblin,In a brand new pair of brogues, I rattled o'er the bogs,And frightened all the dogs, On the rocky road to Dublin.

  6. :sing:1 2 3 4 5Hunt the hare and turn her,Down the rocky road,And all the way to Du-bi-lin,Whack for all the dah.

  7. I didn't do that much myself, to be honest. I watched the Dublin Parade on telly, and The Quiet Man in the evening. And I had a pint with dinner to drown the shamrock.
