So far the Irish summer has been mostly a lot of this
But there have been a few (damn few 🙄 ) days when a person would feel like leaving the
Way back in April (which is really more spring isn't it? ) it was down to Kilmore Quay in Wexford.
The big attraction was the Guillemot lightship, which had been turned into a maritime museum.
Unfortunately, the ship had been vandalized, deemed no longer safe, and cut up for scrap. 😦
Also unfortunately, the websites listing this attraction had not been updated to reflect this.
But still, had a nice lunch, a stroll along the strand, and a look at the boats in the harbour. So it wasn't a complete loss.

Next up was the MCVI show in May
Naturally there were plenty of vehicle to look at.
But there were also several re-enactors who were fully kitted out in period uniforms.

And finally on the June Bank holiday it was the cliff walk in Ardmore, Co. Waterford.
And absolutely perfect day – bright sunshine to keep you warm, a breeze to cool you off, and gorgeous scenery.
Armore has a couple of claims to fame, first being the site of Saint Declan's monastery. So there are numerous religious ruins.
Another is the wreck of The Samson, a crane barge the ran aground on the foot of the cliffs.

Today (Sunday) was also a pretty good day, though there was reason to stay at home. (More on that later.) Tomorrow isn't looking too bad either….
But after that the rains return. 😥
