Lá Fhéile Pádraig Sona Daoibh …
To be honest it wasn't much of a day. The weather was awful as you can see.
So I didn't do much beyond watching the Dublin parade on telly. Luckily the rain held off in the capitol though the skies looked very ominous.
Mother's Day was much better, and I convinced Mam to make the most of the sunshine and take a run down to Inistioge for lunch.
After a nice meal in the Circle of Friends cafe we did a bit of exploring.
It was particularly nice along the river.
We also investigated the village's two churches.
The RC church must be one of the tallest I've seen.
I'm tempted to think it was done out of one upmanship, since it literally overshadows the C of E church
Though I think it is the more interesting building with its huge crypt for the Tighe family.

PS April Fools :jester:
😆 Sneaky O'Sneakerman!
I was trying to figure how to do a Paddy's/Irish Mother's day post when I'd left it so long. Luckily Apr 1 came along at just the right time. 😀
:yikes:
It's not that shocking, is it? 🙂
I thought it was an old post reappearing due to a MyOpera bug! 😆
😆
ha, I looked at it after noon. It doesn't count for me! 🙂
If you say so. 🙄
I missed all the April Fools jokes in the UK press this year. By the time I woke up in Sask, it was long after midday in England :right:
No one tried to fool me this year :left:
For the two of youhttp://archives.cbc.ca/arts_entertainment/humour/topics/648/
I thought the first picture wasn't green enough…tsk tsk
Don't blame me. :p
Happy trails to you, Mick.Did you get to go inside the crypt?
No, the place was deserted and everything was locked up. But I don't think they allow anyone in the crypt at all.
